The lovers of Teruel
Everyone has heard the saying about the Lovers of Teruel, but, who are these lovers? They are Diego de Marcilla and Isabel de Segura.
You can discover their legendary story at the Mausoleum of the Lovers, where you will find two large sculptures by Juan de Ávalos beneath which their remains lie.

Weddings of Isabel de Segura: The Weddings of Isabel de Segura are celebrated during the third weekend of February and recreate the story of the Lovers of Teruel. The city dresses in medieval costumes, and various activities, reenactments, exhibitions, parades, and much more take place! Additionally, during the first weekend of October, La Partida de Diego is celebrated.
La “Vaquilla del Ángel” (the heifer of the Angel): This traditional party is the most deeply rooted in Teruel. In July, the city is filled with music, tents, activities and firecrackers that are definitely worth experiencing.
Holy Week: The Holy Week in Teruel is considered as a Festival of National Tourist Interest. The whole city is immersed in different acts around cornets, drums and bass drums.
Teruel Ham Party: In September takes place the Fair of Ham and Quality Food with two big areas: the technical and commercial, and the popular and festive.
Modernist party: During the third Saturday if November, Teruel celebrates an attractive party about the modernist époque of the city with recreations and related activities.
